In the birthdate section in the admin panel, both of these options are unchecked:

Display Today's Birthdays On Board Index
Display Age of Birthday User On Board Index

However, birthdays, together with the age are showing up on the index. Is there anywhere else to go to get rid of this?

Yeah, in modsettings Show Birthdays on Board Index

I turned it off for you.
